Team Dynamics
Team Dynamics
“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”
– Henry Ford
There is a phrase that some people enjoy repeating which says:” There’s no’ I’ in Team suggesting that being in a team is no place to feel, think and behave like an individual. This is patently untrue as history and experience has shown that successful teams in every field are nearly always made up of talented individuals that have agreed to work together for a common goal. In fact, according to research from Stanford University, team performance improves when the people in a team acknowledge and utilise the members’ individual personalities and creativity.
Therefore, while there may be no i in team, there is a ME. At the heart of a successful team is each member’s ability to recognise and understand their own unique creativity and spontaneity as well as communicate effectively, efficiently and with ENERGY and on a regular basis.
We might have different approaches when it comes to the unpredictable world of business, innovation & leadership but when those different styles come together in a cohesive, committed, creative team, then we are ready for anything and from there…anything is possible.
Science and Stats:
Research conducted around teams of mechanical engineers also suggests that “teams do better when they are composed of people with the widest possible range of personalities, even though it may take longer for such psychologically diverse teams to achieve good cooperation. They must first cultivate an openness to opposing opinions and recognize the value of exploring a problem from various angles.”

“Just wanted to say how truly amazing you were – my team, my boss and my colleagues from Corporate loved it! We have all walked away enriched by your session and I can’t thank you enough for running a superb session. Thank you again – I have already started to see an impact in how we are all with each other – we all have a renewed respect for how we show up. I can’t wait to see what we deliver as a team now!”

An Easter Ego…
Learning to live, lead and love with a healthy ego. Ego gets a bad rap. We are told to transcend the ego, release from ego, fight the ego. Yet, the majority of us don’t live on a mountain in the middle of the Himalayas where it might seem feasible to ‘starve the ego and feed the soul.’ We live in a world that incessantly provokes the ego.
